Rajnikant wasn’t always so celebrated in the South Indian film industry. A poor child with humble beginnings, he worked as a coolie and bus conductor initially. His career began when he acted in Kannada mythological moral plays. It was after his debut film ‘Apoorva Raagangal’ won a National Film Award, that he really became a celebrity.
