Fireworks And Blitzkrieg
Delhi residents are known for their habit of burning crackers and all types of fireworks at numerous events over the year. While such celebrations are usually limited to, festivals like Diwali in the rest of the country, in the capital it is done on personal events like Wedding or birthdays too. This is another factor that makes the pollution level in the city shoot up considerably. The firework burning reaches a crescendo in festive seasons.
It remains to be seen how the directives given by the High Court to tackle the alarming pollution levels are actually executed. The Court has issued specific directives for the government to ease vehicular congestion on city roads and improve quality of air in Court and important government buildings.
