Pichai Sundararajan, better known to the world as Sundar Pichai, was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in 1972 to Lakshmi and Regunatha Pichai. His father was employed as a senior electrical engineer for the British firm, General Electric Company, where he managed a factory that made electrical components. The family lived in a two-room apartment on 46th Street, 7th Avenue in Ashok Nagar, Madras.
“Even at a young age, he was curious about my work” Regunatha Pichai told Bloomberg last year. “I think it really attracted him to technology.”
