The fact that she is part of the ruling party may have been an incentive. Also, it is accepted that powerful people do favours for their friends. However, the deception and silence that surrounded the entire issue is what got us thinking. Perhaps, the fact that Sushma Swaraj chose to present herself as the wronged woman who is being condemned for caring too much for another woman in need is what makes this case seem like a sham.
