Where Do Dengue Mosquitoes Live?
This species of mosquitoes, known as Aedes aegypti, live in our homes – dark places such as closets – and our surroundings that are shady and cool. The female mosquito seeks clean water to lay her eggs, which become into larvae and then into adult mosquitoes in around 10 days. So, check your home for clean, stagnant water and get rid of it. Empty out flower vases, pots, buckets, tires and tanks. Even check your air-conditioning for stagnant water.
In case you cannot empty out stagnant water, cover the container or receptacle with a lid. You can kill the larvae in the water with the help of an insecticide known as Temephos.
