What We Are Losing?
- Today’s generation is so bogged down with these apps that they miss out on the fun of growing up. Children as young as eight and nine years are seen having phones and using them with such flourish that puts me to shame.
- Rather than developing their talents and skills, each child is turning into a tech-freak and vying for the most number of friends on social media sites. These apps have encircled us in their vicious web, making us slaves to them.
- Cell phones have become this generation’s security blankets as it is their gateway to their social life. What we do not realize is that, these means of communicating are well and good when we use them judiciously, but soon they begin to take over our lives. Our social interactions with people soon become restricted to a Facebook or a WhatsApp message and that is the extent of our relationships. Face to face interactions are dying and we are increasingly taking refuge behind screens while dealing with people.
It is time for us to step away from our phones and start to experience the real world once again. No relationship can be genuine and fruitful if it is devoid of personal interaction. So look up from those screen displays, and begin to live life the real way.
