Imran Khan’s Professional and Social Background
Imran Khan is a mathematics teacher in a Sanskrit secondary school in Rajasthan. The idea of creating these apps first occurred to him when teaching his classes to children that spoke Hindi or other regional languages. He realised that the latest mobile and other communication technologies were really powerful. However, in order to truly tap into the potential of these technologies, they needed to be translated into the local languages and cultures. His effort at doing this – has therefore had such a massive impact. It just goes to show how so many things can truly be changed for the good in rural India.
