4. The Couple Undergoes A Lot of Pressure
If the person feels they are not ready to marry, but is forced into it by the family, there can be serious repercussions. The couple may start to resent one another. Pressure from family and parents to go along with what they perceive as the right choice can certainly spell disaster and even go so far as to make the person averse to the idea of marriage. Hence, the current generation, who is more independent and sure of themselves, prefers to be able to take decisions for themselves, of when to marry, whom to marry and so on.
