Facts are scary. Those facts that pertain to human negligence and denial are scarier. And, this continued trend of never believing or thinking one small action could have no consequence will yield the most scariest of facts. The world around you is slowly burning itself into nothing as an outcome of global warming. This is a fact. And facts are scary.
Up till 30 years ago no one knew what the consequence of keeping their air conditioners running all day would be. Or, using plastic to no end to satisfy their bagging needs. Or, dousing themselves in perfumes and deodorants all for the sake of impressing the opposite attraction. Well, we understand now.
So if these statements are true, and all the facts provided are accurate, then the next tough question rears its head. Can we fix it? An optimist would answer with an emphatic yes. A scientist would say the same, but lay down the brutal truth: that it would require all our efforts and time to do so. Thankfully the world is listening and initiatives have been set up to curb this climactic disease and one such initiative is the international day for the preservation of the ozone layer, celebrated on the 6th of September.
