The train line was opened in 1989-1990 and runs between Paris and Western France. The train holds the record of second highest speed attainment in all of Europe and third highest in the entire world. It runs for a distance of 232 km plus 52km for the western branch on a double track railway line. It divides into two branches at Courtalain, one of which goes to Le Mans and the other to Tours.
