5. Golden Temple, Punjab
One of the most famous Sikh pilgrimage centers in India is the Harmandir Sahib, or Golden Temple as we know it. It is a symbol of deep religious sentiments such as tolerance and freedom. The temple is bejeweled with pure gold, which makes it an architectural marvel. The pool by the side is considered to be sacred as it has curative medicinal powers.
