- Gomateshwara Temple – Standing Tall
The monolithic statue was created around 983 AD and stands tall in the city of Shravanabelagola. The stone statue, which is 17.38 meters is one of the largest monolithic statues in the world. Once every twelve years, the Mahamastakabhisheka festival is celebrated where the statue is bathed in saffron, gold coins, ghee, milk and curd.
