The World Bank states that 64.5% of Sudan’s population lives under the poverty line. Much of it is due to the ill governance of the federal National Congress Party and its draconian growth inhibiting policies. Having been caught up in the midst of war for years the country remains unstable due to many ethnic groups and competing factions.
