Having become independent in 2011, the oil rich South Sudan is a fairly young nation. After being separated from its mother nation Sudan, it is still in development stages of governance. The corrupt officials take advantage of this situation and step in to make profit along with the profiteering oil companies. Being highly rich in oil reserves, the nation’s 80% GDP is derived from oil exports and still, 85% of the country’s workforce endures non-paid labor.
