This is one poisonous plant that has roots in ancient Greek mythology. Hemlock has a number of varieties. Water hemlock is seen mostly in North America. Consumption can have fatal consequences. The symptoms of poisoning include numbness, painful convulsions, slow functioning of lungs, tremors and blurred vision. Hemlock has roots resembling carrot and fennel.
