- Saddam Hussein – The Baghdude
The fifth President of Iraq, serving for 24 years playing a key role in the coup of 1968 which brought the Ba’ath Party back into power was Saddam Hussein. He was a leading member of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, which went on to espouse Ba’athism, which is a mixture of Arab nationalism and socialism.
