4. Ravindra Jain – Blindness Could Not Suppress His Musical Genius
Noted and award winning music composer and lyricist Ravindra Jain wereblind, butthe lack of visibility could never detain him from cultivating his talent. In 1985, he won the coveted Filmfare Best Music Director Award. He was born visually impaired. He took to singing pretty early in his life and became one of the most successful music directors in the 1970s. Apart from the Hindi movies he composed music for, Jain also worked for famous TV serials and released private music albums in his illustrious career. Some of the hit films where his music was used include Saudagar (1970), Chitchor (1976), Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978) and Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye (1977). He was also very hard working and gave highest priority to his work. He worked with bigwigs of Bollywood and top singers of the era. He worked for projects of both B.R Chopra and Raj Kapoor. Jain also worked in few regional language films and had a long working association with Rajshri Productions and famous singer Yesudas. He was worked for ace singers like Md Rafi and Kishore Kumar.
