3. Armed Forces Medical College
Located in Pune, the college was established in 1948. The college admits students on the basis of their performance in the AIPMT exam. The selection process also includes an interview. The college admits 130 students, including 25 female students every year. The students are required to work with armed forces for the minimum of seven years, after the successful completion of their courses. All the educational expenses are met the Ministry of Defense, Government of India. AFMC also puts emphasis on extracurricular activities and holds various fests and contests. The institute is also well-known for its research prowess.
